Working as a freelancer, Cultural Echoes is a project about the unique cultural identity of Dubai and its residents, specifically the expat community.

The fact that the local population only makes up 10% of the people living in the city is remarkable and results in an even more interesting effect on the people coming to live there. While residents can live their own cultural identity where they are able to celebrate their holidays, eat their national cuisine and talk their mother tongue they are also surrounded by 200 other cultures.

Therefore, this project aims to highlight this phenomenon that is Dubai. The people living here being able to express themselves as they want to but at the same time take something in from all the cultures around them. Changing them and their perspectives towards one another, making them more inclusive. The publication showcases a few stories picked out for each issue, that visualize the evolution of each participant using patterns. Showing the merge they have gone through from their own birth country culture and living in this international city.
